Positive Organizational Scholarship is a relatively new phenomena in the study of Managament. Management scholarship has evolved from a study of pure technological infrastructure and the economics of the firm, to an exploratory medium which engages all facets of the human experience in the workplace. Positive Organizational Scholarship, simply defined, is the study of human flourishing in the workplace. However, how can employees and managers flourish and engage in those activities which empirical observation suggests facilitate flourishing if Leadership does not have an agenda of affirmation, compassion, empathy, psycholigical capital development, and other dimensions which have all been cited as promoting a healthy work attitude and atmosphere. Consequently, one may posit that leadership is the hinge on which the door to positive organizational inertia will open or close and is more than worthy of inquiry.
